Fifth Third Editor’s Pick: August 2026 picks
Six modules the Fifth Third jury nominated in August. The rotation this month put the two photographers, the platform engineer and the accessibility researcher in the same room; the picks reflect the shape of the conversation.
PhotoCollage Pro — the two-photographer favourite
PhotoCollage Pro was picked by both photographers for the print-ready template layout. The colour picker with the WCAG-2.1 contrast probe was called out as the deciding feature — nobody else on the Fifth Third Photography shelf ships one.
RetroCam Mod — the platform-engineer favourite
The platform engineer nominated RetroCam Mod for the DNG-in-parallel-with-JPEG mode. It survives the airplane-mode hour, the app-standby test and the low-storage test.
NotifTuner — the accessibility-researcher favourite
NotifTuner was picked for the digest-bundling feature. Grouping low-priority notifications into a single hourly summary reduces context switches by a measurable amount — the researcher’s own workspace saw a 62 % drop in notification-triggered app opens in the first week.
Wallpaper Vault — the everybody favourite
Wallpaper Vault landed on every reviewer’s list. The battery-aware refresh mode was the reason: the module suspends the wallpaper swap when the battery is under 15 %, which is the kind of small behaviour that separates a curated shelf from a general-purpose store.
LauncherTheme Pack — the debate
The launcher pack was the only contentious pick. One photographer voted for the Kyoto theme, the other for Slate Grid, and the two of them cancelled out. The platform engineer broke the tie with a vote for the entire pack: fourteen themes for one subscription is «a fair trade for the shelf».
FocusTimer — the outlier
FocusTimer was on nobody’s expected list at the start of the session. The accessibility researcher demonstrated the audio-scene library on a Bluetooth speaker in the studio and every reviewer added it to a personal workspace by the end of the meeting.
